I am running for Ward II of Mission City Council because I love the city of Mission. I value its small town vibe with the benefits of being nestled in a larger urban area. My goal is to represent the needs of individuals, families and the businesses of Mission to continue to keep our town a safe and thriving community.
My family and I have been residents of Mission for 20 years. We chose Mission because of the quality of the schools and the safety of the neighborhoods. I served as a volunteer on the Capital Improvements Committee where I learned about city budgets, infrastructure maintenance, how county, state and federal grants contribute to the cost of road construction, storm drains and parks. I attend city counsel meeting to stay abreast of current events in Mission.
My career in social work has demonstrated to me how strong communities support and strengthen families. I am committed to public service and the work of enhancing our town for the benefit of all Mission residents including individuals, families, and small businesses. Mission has wonderful amenities like the farmer's market and the Sylvester Powell Community Center. I plan to build on these opportunities for continued community engagement.
My husband and I own a small remodeling business so I understand the needs and benefits small businesses have on a community. The residents of Mission are fortunate to have a thriving business district which makes shopping local a pleasure. I look forward to working with business and city leaders to keep Mission competitive bringing unique businesses to our city. We have many opportunities to develop empty sites for new businesses that will continue to make Mission an attractive city to live and work.
Your donation is an opportunity to be part of something bigger. Please support my campaign and help me represent your ideas and needs to keep Mission a robust and vibrant place to live and grow.
